Sinterklaas, a Dutch national holiday, is always on the 5th of December. This time it ended up being a Sunday, so the whole weekend was kinda transformed into a nice family get together. It originally started with one of my brothers coming over and we'd play old games all weekend long. With him staying in our guest room, it was just like we were 6 and 8 years old again and gaming all day long. Of course not much has changed for me in that regard, but he's got a bit of a different life now ;P
The type of games we play hasn't changed much either - one of my earliest and oldest favorites were also turn-based and real-time strategy games with upkeep and economy management, just like Starcraft & Warcraft. Also Populous II (best one), Heroes of Might & Magic 3 (best one), and loads of other games like Midnight Resistance, Silkworm, Rod land, International Karate and Rune. Hell, we even played some SC2!
Later on, my best friend and another of my brothers came over and suddenly we were 8 (wives + girlfriends) and our house was transformed into a little holiday house.
I had an absolutely fantastic time. I'm often not there during holidays or meet-ups because I'm traveling so much, so it feels awesome to have these moments and chances to see them and spend some quality time with them.
